39th Annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders

A few months ago, I had the privilege of kicking off and closing AAUW‘s 39th Annual National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (#NCCWSL). We opened with “Dare to Find Your Voice” and ended with “Dare to Use Your Voice”.

Both sessions were compelling calls to action, encouraging the student leaders to find their voices, speak up, and advocate for themselves and others. Participants were encouraged to embody the courage to express their own thoughts, emotions, and convictions, especially in challenging environments and circumstances. If not them… then, who?

I loved meeting new colleagues such as Amy Quesenberry and Kevin Frick both of whom had wonderful things to share in their sessions. In addition, it was thrilling to connect with 300+ inspirational student leaders and advisors, representing 120+ institutions. Their energy was palpable.

A particular highlight was meeting the 2024 Women of Distinction. They reassured us to remember and embrace the following:

✨”The more that we give, the more that we get, and the more we become.”
✨”We must prepare, persist, and not let anyone tell us that our dreams are not within reach.”
✨”The only real requirement to innovate is passion.”
✨”The rooms we enter need the experiences that brought us there.”
✨”The lives we are meant to lead are waiting on us to be ready.”
✨”We can be scared and do it anyway.”

Thank you Gloria L. Blackwell and Tiffany Sanchez, EdD for allowing me to play a role in helping to motivate and inspire our next generation of leaders.
